Construction Materials Broke All-Time Export Record

Turkey Building Materials Industry Foreign Trade Index September 2020 results have been announced. Building materials industry exports increased by 25.4 percent in September 2020 compared to August.

Exports of construction materials, which were around 1.99 billion dollars, became the highest monthly export of the year in September. Due to the concern of a new wave in the COVID-19 epidemic in foreign markets, outward demand is one of the factors that affect this figure the most.
Construction materials industry exports increased by 19.5 percent in September compared to the previous month and reached 5.65 million tons. The export amount, which increased by 20 percent compared to September of last year, broke the all-time record in this category as well. The previous record was broken in July 2020 with 5.51 million tons of exports.

Imports of Construction Materials Increased by 33.4%
Imports of construction materials increased by 33.4% in quantity compared to September last year and reached 243.9 thousand tons. September imports were 18.5% higher than the previous month. Construction materials industry imports were $ 722 million in value in September.

September imports of construction materials were the highest monthly imports of 2020 in value.
